Hydrospeed

River adventure and time spent outdoors

What is hydrospeed?

Hydrospeed means running a mountain river on a float built for one, shaped for protection and control.

Unlike rafting, where everyone sits in a boat together, hydrospeed puts you in direct contact with the river.

You steer with your body and a pair of fins, with a specialist instructor alongside you the whole way.

It brings together adventure, sport and the outdoors, and suits anyone after something different.

See hydrospeed for yourself

Before booking you can get a feel for a real river run: the currents, the scenery, the rush and the plain fun of a day outdoors.

The videos help people work out how demanding it is and how a session actually goes.

How does a hydrospeed session work?

01

1. Arrival and kitting up

You meet the instructor, hear about the route and get kitted out with everything the activity calls for.

02

2. Safety briefing

Before you get in, you go over how to move, how to lie on the float and what to do where the current picks up.

03

3. Down the river

You do the route on your own float, each person navigating under the guide's eye.
